Responsibilities:

Perform therapeutic and research apheresis procedures on transplant patients and donors.

Job Duties:

1. Perform apheresis procedures on inpatients and outpatients including Plasma Exchange, Peripheral Blood Stem Cell collection, Granulocyte collection and Red Blood Cell Depletion procedures.
2. Monitor the patient response to the procedure and make technical and medication changes appropriately.
3. Draw and process laboratory work as ordered.
4. Process apheresis products appropriately including labeling, volume reduction, irradiation and delivery to proper individuals.
5. Adhere to unit policies and procedures.
6. Work with designated nursing support staff to assure safe comprehensive care delivery.
7. Assist in maintaining a safe, organized and clean working environment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Registered Nurse.
• One year apheresis experience required.
• Experienced in venipuncture.
• Washington State Nursing License.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Able to assist in transfer and positioning of patient.
