Position Description:
Therakos, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson"s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON (MSL), based in a major East Coast city.
Therakos, Inc. specializes in extracorporeal immune cell therapies for the prevention and treatment of serious immune-mediated and neoplastic diseases. Therakos� proprietary procedures in photopheresis are used by physicians for the palliative treatment of the skin manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
The MSL will build advocacy for the Company Extracorporeal Apheresis treatment with opinion leaders, key academic centers and professional organizations in the Eastern U.S. Region.
Serve as a scientific and clinical support resource for Company. This includes directly communicating scientific and medical information during interactions with health care practitioners and pre-clinical researchers. Topic areas include: Apheresis, Dermatology, Hematology, Oncology and Immunology.
Provide oral and written responses to unsolicited requests for medical information related to Company product which is an Extracorporeal Apheresis procedure.
Perform market development activities for new products and indications.
Provide assistance on special projects in conjunction with Clinical Development, Research & Development, or Commercial.
The essential functions of the MSL will include: (1) An acknowledged expert on Company Apheresis product in all areas relevant to internal and external customers: clinical, pre-clinical, especially apheresis operating procedure; (2) Build advocacy for Company existing and future products among regional and national thought leaders, including physicians, key academic centers, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, hospital administration and payers.; (3) Represent Therakos at professional meetings, congresses, local symposia and partner-sponsored meetings; (4) Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information.
Position Qualifications:
MD degree with a completed Residency OR PharmD degree with 2 years of patient care experience (post Residency) required. Experience with Apheresis preferred. Experience in immunology, oncology, or dermatology are preferred.
Excellent oral and written communications skills are required. The qualified candidate will be scientifically and clinically focused, enjoy learning and teaching; have excellent interpersonal communication skills; be a self starter; and work independently while also being team oriented. Qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 60% within the territory (East Coast) including overnight travel. This position provides the incumbent a company car; qualified candidates must have a valid US drivers license.
